Argument Paragraph Frame

  • Topic Sentence: “One of the key reasons [main argument] is [state argument].”
  • Supporting Detail 1: “For example, [specific example or evidence].”
  • Explanation 1: “This illustrates that [explain how the example supports the argument].”
  • Supporting Detail 2: “Additionally, [another piece of evidence or example].”
  • Explanation 2: “This further supports the idea that [connect back to the main argument].”
  • Concluding Sentence: “Therefore, it is clear that [restate the main argument].”

Cause and Effect Paragraph Frame

  • Topic Sentence: “The cause of [issue] can be traced back to [specific cause].”
  • Supporting Detail: “As a result of this cause, [describe the effect].”
  • Example: “For instance, [provide a specific example that illustrates the effect].”
  • Additional Impact: “Furthermore, this leads to [discuss any additional effects].”
  • Concluding Sentence: “Thus, addressing the root cause is essential for [solution or broader implication].”

Comparison Paragraph Frame

  • Topic Sentence: “When comparing [option A] and [option B], it becomes evident that [state comparison].”
  • Supporting Detail for Option A: “On one hand, [describe a key point about option A].”
  • Supporting Detail for Option B: “On the other hand, [describe a key point about option B].”
  • Analysis: “This comparison highlights that [discuss the significance of the differences/similarities].”
  • Concluding Sentence: “In conclusion, [summarize the overall insight gained from the comparison].”

Problem-Solution Paragraph Frame

  • Topic Sentence: “A significant problem facing [issue/area] is [describe the problem].”
  • Impact of the Problem: “This problem leads to [explain the effects or consequences].”
  • Proposed Solution: “To address this issue, [describe a potential solution].”
  • Supporting Detail for Solution: “Implementing this solution could [discuss benefits or positive outcomes].”
  • Concluding Sentence: “In summary, tackling this problem is crucial for [state the importance of finding a solution].”
