7 Regulatory/Accreditation 

Key Department Head Duties

  • Serves as Pima Community College’s primary point of contact for any state regulator or national accrediting agencies connected to an academic program/area.
  • Ensures completion of any necessary activities for meeting regulatory/accreditation requirements. Activities may include but are not limited to:
    • Monitoring certification pass rates
    • Monitoring student job attainment
    • Administering/monitoring student surveys
    • Administering/monitoring employer surveys
    • Tracking program events (e.g. site visits, meetings)
    • Documenting Advisory Committee membership/meetings
    • Documenting program budget development
    • Documenting program facilities, equipment, and health/safety compliance

 

  • Completes necessary reports, documentation of program changes, and audits responses for review by other academic leaders and administration
  • Works with other academic leaders and administration to facilitate any necessary site visits
  • The College is committed to the principle that local and in-state employees should be hired as a priority in all cases. Significant additional human and financial resources are required to hire and maintain employees living in other states.
