6 Additional Locations, Teaching Sites & Dual Enrollment (Update in progress)

Key Department Head Duties

  • Works in collaboration with and communicates with the Office of Dual Enrollment on course requests and approval and provides guidance and feedback regarding Dual Enrollment
  • Provides updates to the Dean regarding Additional Locations and Teaching Sites Oversight
  • Updates procedures and forms for site observations including all requirements for course requirements.
  • Performs Instructor Teaching Observations based on PCC observation timeline.
  • Performs instructor Teaching Observations using the PCC approved Adjunct faculty form, and provide documentation to the Dean
  • Conduct initial site observations for potential Dual Enrollment locations and provide documentation to the Dean using the approved Additional Locations Site Visit form and the Extended Site Visit -Science Lab form (when applicable), as well as photo documentation of the teaching / lab space.
  • Site visits include ensuring all safety standards have been met (if applicable).
  • Communicate with instructors at Additional Locations and Teaching Sites regarding
      • Textbooks
      • Curriculum
      • Faculty Expectations
      • Lab Manuals
      • CLOs
      • Syllabi
      • Final Grade Submission

 

  • Work with lab staff to acquire prep-sheets and inventory lists to provide to the location (if applicable)
  • Provide input on courses that can/cannot be conducted at Additional Locations and Teaching Sites
  • Review syllabi for all Additional Locations and Teaching Sites
  • Serve as a point of contact for Extended Additional Locations and Teaching Sites Faculty
  • Serve on a Dual Enrollment Workgroup, if needed

Simple Syllabus

The PCC Simple Syllabus Resources & Training document contains two 20-minute Simple Syllabus trainings.

  • The two trainings, included under the “Introduction to Simple Syllabus” section, provide the foundation for using Simple Syllabus.
  • Note: instructors must be logged into their Pima email account for the links to work.


D2L Training

D2L is our online learning management system, which all PCC instructors and students utilize. We aim to have all Dual Enrollment Faculty using D2L by the 2025-2026 academic year. We are working on goals and training for D2L; however, if faculty want to begin exploring D2L, here are several resources.
